Talking Lexus Is F

In this month's C&D's article on the IS-F, the subhead under the car pic is "LEXUS IS F". When I first saw it I definitely didn't interpret it right. I saw the IS as the word "is" and well, you can guess the rest. Maybe cuz they did it all in upper case.

Gave me a giggle anyway.

I still think Lexus should have picked something other than F regardless of their 'history' with it.

EDIT: Dang - the board changed the case of the thread title.

Hmm, to paraphrase BSG, Lexus is Fracked.

Maybe they could have gone for -R or something, but -F is a more 'in your face' letter and not weird lie Y/Q/P or something (as a performance tag).

And yes, considering the recent news reports that people's expectations are affected by your name (particularly A, B, C initials), it's good to see that most reviews show that Lexus did not fail, at least in the mission/performance aspect, of the car. Whether it will succeed in the market, we'll see...

Certainly Lexus is having Fun with the 'What the F' and 'What is F' campaign...actually the use of 'IS' has confused me a bit at times in reviews where "This is is fun" etc.

I love the -F designation, I think it sounds great... both in the IS-F and LF-A.

C&D says 0-60 in 4.2 seconds...

I know what the F stands for:

Fast!

Somone else is already confusing people with the letter M....

IS-F makes a great toy to have, no? I have all the mag reviews now, can't wait for EVO, Top Gear and CAR to get their hands on it.
