Default 2008 ALG Residual Value Award Winners

2008 Residual Value Awards

Automotive Lease Guide has announced its annual Residual Value Awards, which honor those vehicles in each automotive segment predicted to retain the highest percentage of their original price after a conventional three-year lease term.

This year's awards are based on 2008 model year vehicles. For the sixth year, ALG has also included awards for the brands with the highest predicted resale values among all industry and luxury vehicles. The awards are derived after careful study of segment competition, historical vehicle performance and industry trends. Award winners are featured on ALG.com and other automotive publications and websites dedicated to bringing the industry's best-performing models into the public eye.

ALG's 2008 Brand Study

Infiniti USA won the Luxury Brand Residual Value Award for the first time – also the first time any company other than BMW or Lexus has won the overall Luxury award. In addition, Infiniti won the Near Luxury segment award for the G35/G37.

Wow, Infiniti #1. Lexus, still very strong at #2. I think this proves Infiniti is on top of their game and continues to put out products luxury buyers of all ages want to buy and lease.

Very interesting rankings, thanks for posting.

Its the first time ever someone besides Lexus or BMW didn't win. And Lexus was 2nd. Their lineup consists of 4 vehicles compared to Lexus and BMW which has at least twice as much. Apples to Oranges.

I hope they advertise this like mad, they need the press.

Actually their lineup consists of 5 different vehicles. And after next month, it will consist of 6 different vehicles:

G35 sedan
M35/45 sedan
QX56
FX35/45
G37 coupe
EX35

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6

We are tallking about the current award. Not the future. G37 is a G car, not a seperate lineup.
G cars=35/37
M cars= 35/45
QX 56
FX SUV=35/45

2 SUVs, 2 cars

Add the EX and

3 SUV lineups, 2 car lineups.

Bwahahahahaha. Dude, what don't you understand? Are you really trying to convince me that the coupe is the same car as the sedan? Who cares what letter comes before it? We both know that the G coupe for example has a better resale value than the sedan. That has always been the case. If they were the same car, resale numbers would be identical.

LOL. No, its more like 2 SUVs, 2 sedans, & 1 coupe

But really, what difference does it make? Infiniti is still #1 in this category. They obviously know what the public wants instead of feeding them vehicles that the public clearly does not want (cough cough, GS450h, cough cough).

What sucks is that despite Lexus being ranked #2 and Infiniti being ranked #1, they both have far worse residuals for actual leases than BMW does... granted, BMW subsidizes their leases to make them that way, but still... wouldn't it be great if Lexus or Infiniti would do the same? The deals would be crazy good!

Lexus isn't doing bad for having 8 vehicles in the line-up. It's only 3 more than Infiniti though.

You cannot call a car with the SAME name, another car.
You cannot call a 3 coupe another line from the 3 sedan.
Audi did with the A5. Its not called an A4 coupe.
A IS 250 and 350 is not a different car. ITs the same.
An Infiniti FX 35 and 45 is not a different car its the same.

Its called a G 35 and G37. Its a "G" car.
Thus G car, M car, QX suv, FX suv. 4 models.

For the 49th time, the Lexus GS 450h meets its limited sales goal targets of 1,800 units a year here.
