I consider the G35 sedan and G37 coupe as two separate cars. Sure they are both G's but thats about it IMO. Different sheet metal, coupe vs. sedan, different powertrain... I think it is safe to say that a majority of people see the two as separate cars also. It's a lot more than just M35/45 and FX35/45. It is not just G35/37 because there is substantial difference between the two, unlike the FX and M models. Anyone who has had true actual experience with both cars can tell this.

Congrats to Infiniti.

I dont think of them as two separate lines. Just like I dont think of a 3-series coupe as a separate line from a 3-series sedan (or an Accord from an Accord Coupe, Altima/Altima Coupe, A4/A4 Convertible etc). At the end of the day, it is still a G and a 3-series.

If they wanted true separation they would have given it a different name along with different styling(Audi A4/A5, MB C/CLK, Acura TL/CL when it was in production, etc).

Either way, outside of the QX line, and 1st & 2nd year G cars, Infiniti's do hold there value very well. I mean its not like we would ever think of seeing Lexus, Infiniti, or Acura at the bottom of the list.

A Pontiac G4, G5, G6, G8 is a different car.
An Infiniti G35 and G37 is the same car. Same interior. Engine is bumped in displacement. One is a sedan, one a coupe. How can anyone seriously say they are different? They are the Skyline in Japan. One is a sedan, one a coupe.

It is not 2 different cars. The 3 coupe and 3 sedan are not 2 different cars.

That's the point here. Whether you count the line up as 4 cars or 5 it doesn't make any real difference as far as overall brand residuals go. That's what the awards were all about.
