Interesting future info from Toyota Japan
A few days ago there was some sort of information meeting held by Toyota for investors to outline business and technology strategies.
Here is the first PDF:
http://www.toyota.co.jp/en/ir/presen...31presen_1.pdf
It confirms that Toyota wants to redesign all transmissions and engines by 2010. It also mentions a few interesting new things that Toyota will be implementing at their factories in the coming years.
Here is the second PDF:
http://www.toyota.co.jp/en/ir/presen...31presen_2.pdf
This actually gives confirmation that Toyota will be once again using turbos in gasoline engines. It also shows Toyota focused on building "fun to drive" vehicles and pictured are the IS-F, FT-HS, and LF-A. Looks like there is a very strong possibility the FT-HS will be put into production.

One thing I wouldn't mind seeing the Lexus IS diesel that is in Britain, here in North America or at least here in Canada.
One thing I would love to see a 5.7L V8 Turbo-diesel hybrid go up against the 6.0L V12 Turbo-diesel (Audi), but that will never happen.

Wow, an interesting set of PDFs to be sure. Actually quite complex, I wonder how long it took the execs to prepare for all those charts and data!
Interesting on the Lexus front--510,000 forecast worldwide this year, continued growth expected. From 58 to around 76 countries/regions in a few years, plus more exclusive dealerships.

It has been unofficially confirmed.
unintentionally refers it as "HT-FS" than FT-HS.
