This story is odd since my mothers Audi burned down in 1983 with only like a few thousand miles on it. I can't believe this is still happening.

American cars are trash, but that's no more on topic than your post. We're discussing the Audi here and from this post on that's what we'll be doing or we'll delete and send you (read: anyone) out the door for 24 hours since this is the second time this has been suggested to stay on topic in this thread.

Please feel free to further the Audi discussion.

...your just looking for some way to bash Audi and didn't even read what actually happened.

These quotes from the O.P.

If you check my video, you see that the car has been on the track as well at 32° Cel. no problems at all.

The car burned has been a test car, serial no. below 1610.
All cars below this no had problems with the R-Tronic and the fire was caused by a hydraulic failure.

Most of the cars with a serial no below 1610 have been test cars. It has been a simple software update for the gear box hydraulic system to eliminate the problem.

So don't worry guys it's been solved.

My car has been delivered know one month a go an the serial no is above 1700.

All the other owners have received a software update.

The car of the Audi deal which burned just hasn't being updated.

Well guess it would have been easier if they would have done it.

Anyway , car is safe
it is only a software update. I know 3 R8's which been called back or just didn't move a meter anymore because of this matter.
That's why I have asked the head of mechanics dept at Audi Lugano, if I should worry about my R8. His answer was NO and he has shown me the letter from Audi.
