Now that I've started grad school, I'm driving 80 miles a day from home to work to school. I'm afraid this will start getting too expensive. Do you guys have a beater car to drive around on a daily basis? I was thinking about getting a 98-00 accord for around $6k.

 

meh ... get something thats a real beatter like a 90-93 accord ...

 

92-96 Camry? They are more comfortble and better than Accord. I sold over 30 Camrys and 20 Accords, I know.

Or a civic? Less gas.

Or 240sx for a bit of fun, but gas mileage is pretty bad...

I just bought a 2000 Honda Insight a few months ago for $8500 (47K miles) for my daily driver/beater......

averaging 70.7MPG over the 5000 miles I've put on it. With the money it saves me in gas it pays for itelf.

 

Damn that is not bad 70.5 MPG! WOW!

I primarily use a moped for my daily work beater, but if it rains or I need the car I used a 89 Civic, and now we have a 95 Camry for that purpose.
