Porsche has built its 100,000th unit of the current 911, known to Porsche enthusiasts and insiders as the 997. The 997 has hit the 100,000 mark faster than any of its 911 predecessors.

The 100,00th car, a Guards Red Carrera S 6-speed manual, is headed to a customer in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Porsche's Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen facility started production of the 997 in April 2004. The automaker expects to reach another milestone at the end of this month: a record 36,000 997s produced in fiscal year 2006/07.

Nice cars. I like the white lip set-up, it's different. Saw a 3GS around town with chrome wheels that had white lips on white car. I couldn't keep my eyes off it. I was trying to follow the guy until he noticed and turned off.
Also like the silver on black and the yellow on black.
I hate black cars on black wheels that don't have another color to break it up. Either chrome lip or color ring around the lip...something to break up all that black.

i see so many 997 on the road now. just the other day i saw a 997 turbo lowered with kits, wheels, body kits, and exhaust. boy was that thing hot.... and it was flying on the road.

honestly i am still a bit torn between it and the 996, but i am especially impressed with the new turbo

Is this that stretched 911 that shares like 10% of the original body?

Look at the reflection on this paint. Ridiculous. I love it.
Porsche really knows how to make a car.
