How Rude!
So, the wife and I went out to dinner with some friends last night at our favorite Thai restaurant (Thai Noy, in Westover - North Arlington, VA)...side note: if you're ever in the area, we highly recommend it!
Nice, leisurely drive out there, with the top down. We park out in the back parking lot, put the top up and go to dinner. When we're finished with dinner, 90 minutes or so later, we all head back to the cars. What do I find on my car when I get there? I nice big loogie splat, right on the windshield! Now, I was parked NEAR a tree but, not under it. This wasn't bird poop...this was someone's spit!
What the heck? What did I do to them? Now, I know that my license plate doesn't project the most eco-friendly lifestyle so, I don't know if some Ed-Begley-Jr.-tree-hugging-let's-all-get-a-Prius-and-carpool got offended but, I just don't get it. You live your life and I'll live mine! Of course, after cleaning up the offensive deposit I had to get my flashlight out and go over the whole car to make sure that was the worst that was done to it (No key scratches...lucky for him!).
Took a perfectly nice evening and spit on it, literally!
Just had to vent to some understanding folks.
P.S. If the owner of the OTHER black/ecru SC430 that was in the Thai Noy / Lost Dog parking lot last night is here, just wanted to say Hi!

Sad but occurs far too frequently in the world. We all work our tails off and reward ourselves with nice toys and have to endure the hate of others. I have been a victim many times over from simple spit to flat out fender smashed in (another car). But..In the end it just makes ownership that much sweeter and when I am cruising the streets with the top down, radio cranking ,and exhaust howling, I give a you know what about what others think while I enjoy my world.
I wouldn't worry too much about it. My car was keyed twice while parked near my place in NYC. It's a simple 3 Series... Some people just need to grow up and keep the hate/mischief bottled up inside.
It is rude, but it will wash right off... I got a bottle of rum thrown on my
hood and it was $1500 of body damage plus the cost of a rental for 18 days.
There is nothing you can do about scum like that. The world is full of
them. Just don't let them ruin your day and make your life miserable.
That's exactly what they want to accomplish.

These are the kind of people who throw rocks at peoples houses when they're little kids. They weren't taught to respect other people's property. They find satisfaction in burdening other people.

I live just a few miles from Westover.....Vienna in Fairfax County. I'm in Arlington all the time. In my experience, what happened to your car for racial or political reasons is not typical of either Arlington or Northern Virginia as a whole (and I have lived here many years).....although kids often do minor things just for kicks like key scratches or letting air out of tires, without knowing who the car owners are.
