So, why put that crappy fuel rating on your plate? Did you lose a bet or something? Or are you making some non-eco-friendly statement? Just curious.

And does your SC430 REALLY only get 14 MPG?? Is it turbocharged? That seems awfully low for the 4.3 liter.

I'm just glad I don't have my own spit stories.

KevinGS - Because I'm a firm believer in "no free lunch". While there are many people out there that would like a hard-top convertible with sporty handling, power to spare, trunk space to rival a Honda Accord, seating for 4 adults, get 40 MPG on the highway and cost less than $25 grand....that's not gonna happen. I compromised on several things when I got this car. One of them was fuel efficiency. It was a conscious choice I made and I'm not going to feel guilty about it.

I put it on there to snub my nose at the many people that think we should all carpool in a Prius. My car gets terrible gas mileage and I'm not ashamed of it. Most folks who see my license plate think it's funny...they get the joke.

My SC430 REALLY only gets about 14 MPG on premium fuel with straight city driving. On the highway I can manage something in the 24-26 MPG range. It's not turbocharged or anything...totally stock (still under warranty so I'm not going to touch it for a couple more years).

Guess I'll be the jerk here since no one else is stepping up... Yours is a great example of why so many people think that vanity plates are retarded, and most of them ARE retarded. Yours is one of the gayest in terms of ''why''. Why would you want to put that on your (nice) car? Who do you think really cares? Do you really think people give a crap whatever statement it is you're trying to make? On top of that, are you really surprised when it prods some a-hole into 'snub'bing you back?

I'll bet you $100 that the people (your friends for example) who tell you 'haha, that's pretty funny'...or whatever...actually bag on you behind your back for being such a dweeb.

Sorry for rambling, I'm just killing time waiting for the GF to show up w/dinner. Maybe I'll get a plate that says 'I 8 DINNER".
