Par for the course for you.... As others have posted, the E46 was a hell of a machine. Once in a while you need to give props, regardless of your personal hate for the brand.

One can hope the new M3 will carry the torch.
Gotta agree 100%. The E46 M3 got every superlative in the book. It was that good. I think only the RS4 beat it in a couple comparos (not even all of them) at that car costs 30k more.
Its one of the most useable, beautiful and best performing all around cars you can buy.
One of the best cars out there for its time. With the new V8 M3 coming out I figure the avg. price of a E46 M3 will drop about $5k so a decent milage '01-'02 could be had for around $21k-$26k when the '08 comes out. Who knows what will happen in the next year.

This machine can be had for 25k in my area already
Yeah, kinda like that GTO huh?
Nope, The M3 will be the new weekend driver. I will be putting the GS in the classifieds soon.
Aw I will be very sad to see the E46 M3 go. If I could buy ONE and only one car, the E46 M3 would be it. It's a great example of the BMW marque. It was very good at everything, without flattening your wallet or totally beating you up inside. Plus it wasn't too flashy like some of the late BMWs.
I do hope to buy one used someday. I won't care if I can afford somethin better; I just want to own one.
One of the best all around cars ever. One can only hope the new E9x M3 can carry the torch. Hey, at least there will be a sedan version this time.
And no inline-6? That was a huge disappointment for me. I don't like the interior nor the rear-end styling. There's too many "I don't likes" with the new E92 M3.
I, too loved the e46 styling particularly the coupe, but fortunately I never succombed to my urges and got the ///M3 over the LS. Way too many issues with the 3.3L and output was....lacking.

What's wrong with a V8? It makes more power, still revs high, and is actually lighter. I actually LIKE the E92 rear end.
