Spy Shots: BMW M3 sedan
Posted on Monday 18 June 2007
Up until the unveiling of the BMW M3 Concept at the Geneva Motor Show, most of the auto media buzz surrounded spy images of the coupe testing in various parts of the globe. Little attention was paid towards the upcoming M3 sedan variant, and as these latest spy images reveal, the four-door looks every part as menacing as its two-door sibling.
These shots were taken inside BMW’s test facility located near the Nurburgring in Germany. They show that the E90 M3 saloon will sport the same front end styling as the coupe, including the same aggressive front bar, E92 headlights, vented bonnet, wider fenders and a quad tailpipe arrangement.
Under the hood resides the same 420hp 4.0L V8, which will be optional with BMW’s upcoming M DCT seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Both the coupe and sedan will be unveiled in full production trim at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.

Unfortunately it does not look as menacing as the E46 M3. It does have a sleeper look to it though. This is going to be more of an IS-F competitor, instead of the M3 Coupe people have been comparing.

As another poster said, this sedan looks MUCH better than the coupe. I wonder how much more it will weigh...?
coupe and sedan bodies are derived from each other, its not a completely new chassis, weight difference wont be that significant. Also being the chassis are derived from each other, thats why the coupe has terrible proportions, its too long
I love the look of the front of the car. Pretty much I think the front of the other BMW sedans are similiar in style. I still have the April issue of BMW Car magazine which had a picture of the M3's front on the entire front cover.
