3 stolen prototype Porsche engines found at TechART?!!?
According to the Google translated article several engines including a top secret motor were stolen from Porsche over the weekend from the Porsche R&D center in Weissach. One of them being a next generation motor.
The details are a bit vague at this time, but initial reports are indicating several have been arrested including some Porsche employees. The engines apparently surfaced at the German tuner Techart and Porsche has already filed criminal charges against two senior executives. According to local newspapers Techart has used some parts of that engine prototype for further evaluation after they discovered the engine to be a prototype but facts are still sketchy in public.
Maybe some of our European readers can tip us off with some more details as they surface, but in the mean time any of you care to speculate?
"3 Engine prototypes have been stolen out of Porsches development center, 2 conventional engines and one "engine of the future". The parts have been found in the Techart garage. four people are in jail, two leasing-managers of porsche, and two customers. Porsche now sues Techart for theft, Techart says they bought the stuff with a bill and thought everything was ok, but found out, that the engine wasn´t the promised 997 Turbo engine, but something else (they were fascinated), so they gave it back to the dealer, and it was found there. If it´s true, Techart will be out of the buisness, because Porsche never delivers parts to someone who did something "strange" with them....Right now, the only facts are, the engines disappeared, popped up at Techart......that´s it."
LMAO! You had better jump on that turbo you saw at the dealer before the price is jacked even more. If all this turns out to be true, TechART will just be a figment of our imaginations...
Did you guys know about the troubles over at Techart. I'm surprised. The German gov't is tough. They go in and raid a business because they may have created knock-offs? Geez, many American companies would be in trouble if our gov't did things like that.
