I buy Rides Magazine only because of my car compulsion. I never read the write ups because Rides allows lots of cursing from the car owners. In addition, they cover a lot of "over the top" cars that make me cringe.

The latest issue just made me feel better because there is an article about D2 Autosport and an interview with Derrick. There's also a pic of Derrick and Stefan's cars along with the cars of their crew.
Way to go Derrick and keep doing it big.

Other members from CL in the D2 photoshoot were Neloc members' Cathafer who owns the IS and the Benz truck and Tony who had the first gen GS and was featured in a separate article directly under D2's article. Neither one knew that the other was gonna be in the mag that month. Congrads to them all.

Thanks for posting these pics. Derrick mentioned his feature in an email but I still haven't found a hardcopy of the mag. That quarter to eight (ha ha) is sittin' pretty. Then again, that's become expected par for the course for Derrick.

 

Hey Reggie thank you very much for the post, I truly appreciate the kind words. Respect earned from people in my peer group (such as yourself, fellow CL old-timer) means alot!

The shoot was really cool, and I'm just glad we were able to incorporate a plethora of vehicles to demonstrate our capabilities, not just the same ole' Bentley / Benz / BMW. (for some the Bentley and CL55 and 745 are just considered cars for "other" people, yadda yada anyway). The IS250, LS400, and 330i help make it a well rounded group!

I want to take this moment to personally thank Cathy for representing with us!! Its easy for someone to say "hey sponsor me and I'll do shows" however after the products are delivered its hard to find them! Cathy recruited a personal friend of hers (Alison), and drove both cars to the shoot, then stood out in the freezing cold for 4 hours with a bunch of dudes! Not exactly the diva practices of a resident "fly gurl" and I can not say enough about her, classy lady!

Also I want to recognize Stefan, since the editor of RIDES magazine (Brian Scotto) saw the LS400 last year, and tapped on Stefans window to inquire about it, and thats how this all got started. Moral of the story: with all the mega dollar cars we do, the VIP-exe Lexus still KNOCKS 'EM DEAD!
