Cool Lexus Battery True Identity

The battery in my RX300 recently died, so today I removed it and upon inspection of the battery peeled back the "Premium Lexus" battery Logo Sticker only to find a "Premium Toyota" battery Logo sticker right under it! This may not come as a suprise to some but I for one didn't expect the extra cost at the Lexus dealership to be for a sticker!

Not out of the ordinary.

The RX is a luxury derivative of the Highlander...

Lexus parts are genuine Toyota parts. A very good example are the oil filters. They come in the red Toyota box. There is no such thing as Lexus genuine parts.

Nothing new really.

My local lexus dealer wanted $12 per quart of Type T-IV ATF while Toyota only wanted $5.50 or so.

You know what you could do? Trade in your Lex for a BMW, you won't have that problem ever again.

I'd rather have a Toyota than a BMW any day...

As I mentioned in the RX300 forum, I noted that one of my old OEM batteries once said Made in Mexico, in fact come to think of it, I remember removing that top stick and it said Hecho en Mexico below that.
