Alot of people are sleeping on Infiniti but the past 5 years they have been coming out with some nice S*** I'm going to test drive the G Monday I love the way it looks better than last "G" I can't wait to look at it in person and see how it drives.
I believe the new Q might have something for our AZZ. But I don't think it can mess with the new LS 460. But It is moving in a better direction than Acura IMO.

I agree... the new LS is no joke.. makes me want to buy some nasty dvd flicks and play them on the rear dvd entertainment system and lay naked on the leather upholestry while getting massaged... jus kiddin.... but yeh it is real nice. The outside to me just looks to much like a big camry and just cant get over the looks for some reason.

Not to hijack the thread.... can anyone to a photoshop of my Q so I can get an idea of what it will look like once its lowered.. maybe like a 2inch drop or so.. Thanks in advance.

I got an 05. I might consider trading up to an 06.... it has a few more features than mine with bluetooth and a few other goodies the 05 missed out on and comes stock on 19inch wheels like the m45 has. You will not regret getting a car like this... the Audi A8 and LS were only the other ones I considered but really the A8 was the only other one that I was more impressed with. LS was just to bland for me plus i see them all day long on the 101 hollywood freeway LOL. Another reason why I got the Q because I wanted to do a stagger setup in 22inch wheels and unfortunately the LS wheel wells were to shallow to do that and same with the Audi A8. The Q's wheel wells are extremely large as you can see and can fit the same size wheels and width like the new BMW 7 series and Mercedes S Class. Heck I could even fit a 22x10 in the front but that's rediculous and would stick out way too much. I'm running a 22x9 in front and 22x10 with an aggressive offset and with no modifications to fit whatsoever but rolled the rear fenders to avoid contact. This car is the real deal and rides so smooth...you wouldnt believe you were on 22's until you looked at the sidewall to see the tire size. If you live in southern los angeles I'd let take it for spin if it would help you decide if this is what you really want. You'll never know how great the craftsmanship is inside and basically you just have to own this kind of car to appreciate what it really has to offer and thats all I can say about that....it's a flawless machine

It doesn't look fake, but I do think it looks like a cheesy afterthought on the steering wheel though.

I used to be a wood person but I prefer the leather or that new material like the new Q45/m45 has and 7 series use. In the pics it does look a little cheesy but in real life you can tell the difference. Regardless... like you said, I'm not a wood person either so I could care less.

You should also check out the early model Q's to get better deals 2002-2004 like the pic i Have below. http://www.streetconcepts1.com/ hooked this Q up the right way and staggered it with 21 inch Lowenhardt wheels. I believe the rear has 295/25/21

yep them Q's look nice like I said alot of people have slept on Infiniti including me but lately they have been making a strong comeback because in Charlotte they now have 2 infiniti dealerships both are real nice. Maybe the next Q might be a contender. In the June 2005 issue of R&T the M45 whup the GS and the 545i Azz. But with the new GS 460 about to hit the Shores imo Lexus is going to be one step ahead of everybody else in luxury sport class.

Getting back to reality ...

The new Q will NOT "blow away" the new LS. The new Q is supposed to come out as either a 2008 or 2009 model. Now, that means it's already deep into its development. Lexus only started announcing details about the new LS beginning of this year. If Infiniti found out about the details of the new LS, and wished to benchmark it, or beat it, it would be too late right now in the development process, unless they push back development. On top of that, Lexus showed off the LS600h in NYC in April.

My guess is that under ideal circumstances, Nissan benchmarked the current LS430 and set development goals of possibly beating that car in many areas. The problem is that the new LS series (LS460, LS600h) is a huge leap forward over the LS430.

Even *if* the new Q debuts with a 400HP+ V8 in a couple of years, Lexus *right now* has a 400HP+ V8 in their arsenal, and the LS600h will have even more than that, not to mention AWD.

Infiniti's Q has simply fallen too far back competitively to be anywhere close to the new LS. If any of you Infiniti fans think otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves and setting yourselves up for dissapointment.

That is exactly what people said about the infiniti M before it came out. And now, well...you know the story. It beats everything in its class in comparos, has won numerous awards, etc. Infiniti can do it with the new Q if they do it right.

I remember there was similar nay-saying around here about the M before it came out.

Of course, the Q has been a failure for years, but then again, pretty much all pre-2002 Infinitis have been failures, or at best lukewarm sales stories.

If the G35 and M35/45 are any indication, I am optimistic that the next Q will be a solid car. It won't "blow away" the LS460, but it will be more sporty, closer to the 750i.

History has shown, you can't out-lux a Lex, but you can always out-sport a Lex.
