Guys my son is buying a Skyline (R33) from a guy in Dallas. We would like someone to reccomend a shop that can put it on a lift and basically do a full inspection for the vehicle before he takes final acceptance of the vehicle and drives back to Atlanta. He will probably be in Dallas when it is getting inspected but we need the name of a few shops to call.
Go onto Skylines downunder or any other Skyline forum and check out a buying guide on their forums. They should have alot of information on what to check for etc . Just a little "pre-inspection inspection" if you know what I mean.
make sure he drives it and make sure the Hi-cast 4 wheel system is functioning properly ( it doesnt jitter when u step on it ) my freind has a R33 and the Hi-cast has been giving him alot of problems, and parts like these are really hard to get
I'm sure you can remove the whole hicas system or disable it as it's basically 4 wheel steering which alot of high powered modified Skylines have removed.
have the VIN runned through the DMV and the local police dept. to make sure it isnt one of the cars that is "missing" from Motorex during the shutdown.
Exactly. Make sure it isn't stolen...a couple kids stole a few of them and traded them up for some cars, so the stolen ones are still floating around out there.
Hey man, is the guy that he is buying his car from named JJ something. If so you better check out the car alot. They had a thread on supraforums.com about him and his shady dealings selling skylines. I would link it but as always supraforums.com is down this time of night. Its in the Texas section under 'I seen a blue R34 today' or something like that. Just giving you a heads up.
