Should Lexus owners own/drive Pick-up trucks?
Also, if you own a Pick-up truck, now is your time to represent!
I just bought a used Silverado 2500HD 6L 4x4 Extended Cab.... I'll post pics when it's light outside, just got it today!

Should lexus owners own a pickup? What kinda question is that?
What else would you haul all the big stuff with? I'd like to see a load of mulch or a 60" big screen get home in the back of my GS...on second thought, lets use yours.
I have always had at least one pickup in the stable. Right now I have an 03 Ram that I wish I didn't have.(worst truck I've ever owned. Had to send a registered letter to the head of DCX it is so bad) As soon as the 07 Silverado is launched I'm getting one. If Lexus made a pickup I'd be the first one in line.
Once you have a truck and see how handy it is, I think you'll never be without one.

Nothing wrong w/ trucks. I don't have a pick-up (i have an Explorer & a Grand Cherokee), but I wouldn't get through winters, home depot runs, etc... without them.
Like chpsk8 said, i don't think you can/want to put stuff like that in your beautiful GS.

Full size American pickups are a foundational part of Texas culture (hat tip to LiLS). None of those fruity little mini trucks for us. They tend to fall into two groups - the Cowboy Cadillac, seen most often on the streets of Dallas or Houston - the shiny new, full-boat optioned one-ton diesel dually without so much as a scratch in the bed, or the faded but reliable work truck that's usually covered in a light patina of dust from a country road.
I favor the latter, there's something honest about an old pickup that works for a living. Most are well into their second decade or more, but are still solid, run well, and although maybe a little short on the options list, they are simple and straightforward. They're like a comfortable old pair of jeans - maybe they've got a couple of thin spots in the paint, but somehow they're just easy to live with. They don't require garage space, they don't have to be detailed, and they don't even seem to mind a few more scratches - so long as they don't expose bare metal. We don't put expensive tires and rims on them, or really even waste money on mods - it's a workhorse, not a show pony.

Well, I was considering getting a use RX300, new Xterra, Pathfinder..so on...
I decided against that after seeing a 6.0l 2500 Chevy 4x4 Silverado with 45,000 miles at the Chevy Dealership.

I was actually thinking of selling the ES for a pick up.. I just don't want car payments..
I think every home owner should have a truck.. Its just nice to be able to go to Home Depot etc. and not have to borrow a buddies truck.. Isn't that what we all do.. Have a friend with a truck to we can borrow it..LOL

Before anyone considers the purchase of a pickup, first be sure you can say "NO!" to all of the freeloaders who will be asking you to help them move. Unless you do this, you will never have a Saturday free again!

This probably goes without saying, but if you want a reliable pickup, get a Toyota Tundra. AVOID the Nissan Titan. The Tundra will not tow quite as much as a big Ram or Silverado, but it is far more reliable.
