Worst VW commercial EVER!
Has anyone seen the Passat "Low Ego Emissions" video?
They have members of vastly superior cars then the passat screaming insecurities over the megaphone as to why people own this pricey vehicles.
One guy proclaiming. "Because I make more money then you!" Or a girl in mercedes benz saying something about the attention she needs, or the guy in the viper "Because Im compensating for my shortcomings."
They should of had one saying. "Because im not a sheep thats willing to drive this unbalanced ill handling fwd turd plagued with electronic problems!" Over and over again. "Or because I enjoy vehicles that are actually entertaining to drive!"
Way to alienate the entire population that doesnt drive a passat! This is from the same company that in the hot hatch market, its turbo powered 2 liter is outperformed by a naturally aspirated japanese competitor in all aspects of handling and braking and matched in accelaration.

Interesting you bring this up. I kind of laughed at how idiotic the commercial is, and my wife, who is generally un-flappable, was downright offended by it. The fact that they propose to insult anyone with an expensive or striking car, or a car with more than 300hp is rather doltish. Oh well, I just know I'd rather drive any one of the cars they were taking shots at than a Passat.

Agreed! I really do not like VW - crap products that they try to sell at a premium prices! They are just making fun of a market segment they do not have a part in.

Yeah, I just saw this ad the other day too.
The absudity of it made me laugh. I guess I am a 'sheep'. Whether the long-lasting impression of the ad is positive or negative for the general public, the ad has served its purpose. People are talking about it.

The W12 had over 400. The same engine was used in the now-discontinued W8 Passat in a detuned form.
