Default Should Team Lexus keep their current colors?

I have heard a rumor that Team Lexus may change the 'Champion Orange' color scheme on their cars this season.

When I first saw the (prior gen) Team Lexus cars I was first shocked at the color and then very much grew to like it.... adds a bit of additional bold suprise to the fact that a Lexus is out there competing. It also makes them very easy to pick out in a crowded lineup of fast cars.

What do you think? Keep it or change it?

I voted to keep it as it is very sporty and flashy. Just what Lexus needs to spice up its general "boring and appliance-like" image.

They should make it the same colors as the Rolex cars. Red on white

Change it. New cars, different design language, more powerful etc. Complete overhaul. Make an even greater statement.

I thought the question was to change the color scheme of the CURRENT lineup (The GS and IS)...in this case, I say keep it. It's already well known, and as Dave said, easy to pick out and very noticeable. Plus it looks good.

In the case that Team Lexus will be building up a 3GS/2IS, I agree with Mag and say new color scheme for new cars.

This is the color scheme of the Lexus Rolex car. They should just do this.

I like bold and flashy, but I see DASH's point about making them all the same color. I think as Lexus gets into more motorsports, they should have a unified motorsports design theme to build on the brand image. Maybe they should change the Rolex cars to champaign orange :-)

But really, they could be simply primered and I'd be happy as long as they hurry up and get into ALMS! Whats the hold up!

"Lord I should be in marketing...."

The color needs to change. Its grown on me tons, and yes it does stand out. It also won't sell cars. There has never been an orange Lexus sold to the public.

My strong recommendation would be to change the HUE to maybe the Spectra Blue Mica, and then LEXUS IF YOUR LISTENING, sell this COLOR to customers.

Or PEARL/DWP/ white with orange/blue accents, since this is one of Lexus most popular colors.

TEAM LEXUS motorsport and their SUCCESS should transcend to cars LEXUS SELLS.

That would be AWESOME. Like the Mercedes SILVER. They race it, they sell it.

If TEAM LEXUS keeps its colors, I suggest LEXUS sell some LIMITED amounts of orange cars.

Maybe flip the colors. Instead of orange with blue as the accessory color, make the cars BLUE with orange the accesssory color.

When you think of Lexus, the LAST color you think about is orange. You think maybe white, silver, black or even gold.

My final option would be GRAPHITE GRAY or FLINT MICA. The dark silver is CLASSY, its RACEY when accented and DIFFERENT.

So in order
1. Blue
2. Graphite Gray/Flint Mica
3. Pearl White/DWP
4. Keep the orange

We all know Lexus has no problem selling cars but I believe the old saying is "Race on Sunday, build on Monday" or something like that.

If Team Lexus gets the wins, Lexus should respond with some special edition or sportier cars in their honor.

If Lexus is SERIOUS about getting rid of some of that stodgy image, they need to support Team Lexus and bridge the gap from race to road.

Lexus while your at it with all that money, how about a REAL manumatic, SMG (hell the last MR-2 had one) or manual for these cars!

You can do it!!

Big props to TEAM LEXUS for soliciting feedback from us here on Clublexus.

Keep it or go with the Rolex combo...I agree with Sick that they should market some cars with the colors thus lexus can associate its cars with its success on the track.
