looks nice...

supercharged engine makes it sound fast too, for a small little SUV. lets hope production models doesnt stray too far from the concept.

Most didn't like the conccept pictures and interior because it had that funky orange leather seats. With the production version it was a toss up. People still didn't like the looks or the fact that Acura was introducing a cheaper smaller AUV in their line up as cars under $30K not supposed to be sold in a luxury brand, but there also were a lot of good thing said about it. The turbo motor should be one great motor, the interior looks pretty good, the nav system appears to be the same as in the RL, so you will ber voice recognition, real time traffic navigation and other goodies that the RL nav has. Over all I think it is a great competitor to those SUVs like the X3 and such.

To me the steering wheel looks like its the same one used in the new civic. Which makes sense since the RDX is based off that car.

The RDX is not based off the Civic. It uses an all newly developed global light truck platform. This RDX is the very first Honda/Acura car to use this new chassis. Since it is a light truck global platform. I doubt the Civic will use this chassis in the future either.

The steering wheel does look similar to the one in the Civic Si coupe. I don't think it is the exact same though. The RDX one appears to have a larger diameter (Makes sense as the Civic one was smaller than usual which I liked), the steering wheel button controls are in a different layout, and the thumbrest area appear to be much more pronounced.

heh... I do think its 4cly turbo engine is not well suited for SUV's... 10k less expensive Rav4 will spank it with V6.
Thats the main problem...

I'm sorry to hear that your RX400H was wrecked. Are you OK?......no injuries? You say you need to replace it. Does that mean it was totalled? The Rx400H is such an expensive vehicle that it would take a LOT of damage to total it....and it is also quite complex and expensive to repair.

As far as " bickering" goes, I'm not here to bicker, but to help. If you want advice and opinions on purchasing or leasing another vehicle to replace it, let us know what your driving needs are, how much you can afford to spend ( the insurance check will no doubt cover a good part of that ) and we'll go from there.

I think you answered your own question! We all know that what appears to be cosmetic damage can actually camouflage significant problems deep within a vehicle after an accident, and that is especially true with a technically sophisticated one. I suspect it takes about the same amount of apparent damage to total an Echo as it does an RX400h (or an SL65).

its too bad the OP isnt going to drag race with it, hes coming from a RX400h so I would think he wouldnt want to go back down to a toyota. RDX interior is far better than any Rav4
