He "didn't see the water" . . . obviously failing to notice too, the missing stripe on the road, the lane barricade to his left, or the extremely low bridge ahead of him. Sometimes, it appears that the gene pool is self-cleaning.

This also points up a situation that is common in heavy rains where rising water floods the road. Why is it that so many people drive into water that is clearly up to the door handles? How many times do you see someone in a high-wheel pickup drive into deep water and drown - and a Civic drive into the water behind him . . . are people blind?

The weather's going to be pretty rough in many parts of the country over the Holidays; let's all be careful out there!

I guess you missed my post about what happend to my SC300

same thing - only I didn't drive into the river
the water filled the interstate while we were in a tunnel

me and 20+ other cars totalled (we were stuck in traffic watching the water rise)

I remember watching that on TV. That was during Hurrican Katrina.

You, at least, had no control over the situation. Being stuck in a traffic tie up and being forced from your vehicle due to rising waters is a far cry from plunging full speed into a raging river that has crossed an interstate!

I 'm wondering why this thread was moved here to Car Chat
It's no biggie but I put it in the clubhouse because it's not about "Lexus, other auto manufacturers and automotive news. " it's just a guy plunging his car into the water of a flooded highway
