Lightbulb Lexus vs. Benz defrost systems

Our Lexus cars have more normal looking rear defrosters, with large lines on the aft windshield, separate by an inch about. Our old S-class had very fine lines, a cm or so apart, and were far less visible. The Benz version seemed more refined---one of the rare areas where at least visually, the Benz seemed superior. Both defrosters seemed to work quite ok the occasions that we used them, but I wonder if Lexus would ever do something to improve on that front? I like the LF-S where the air jets are used instead of wipers, but haven't heard about the defrosters...

air jets for wipers were used on the acura TL concept years back.

but as for the defrosters, it seems to me the benz ones work better...

that's what i was going to say, air jets for wipers were on the TL concept already, imho that won't work... get a bird poop or dried water spot and i don't care how strong the air jets are....

about the defrosters, i actually don't think the ones in lexus work that efficient. it's ok, i hardly use it anyway

I am going to have to check this observation out. The 92 ES defroster still works like day 1.

I agree - I've never understood why the rear defroster seems to take 20 minutes to actually remove any frost or condensation. My old Acuras were lightning quick. Same for side mirror defrosters too.
