Thumbs up Spy pics: 2007 Lexus ES

Here is another shot of the new ES.
You can't see much with all the cardboard, but at least, you can tell it won't have these "half way to the windshield" headlights anymore.

And you can tell it's not the Camry...

Just a nice detail on the all new 2007 ES.
It will be available with a "glass roof" option for the 1st time. It is actually, just like the one in the Mercedes E class, a double sunroof, where only the 1st one opens up.
This option was supposed to be available on the RX, but I've never, ever seen one with it. I wonder if they had problems...

Everyone (at least in the automotive press) forgets about the ES. They all want the "sporty Lexus", the IS.
But the ES is an amazing car in the segment. It is pretty much everything people want in a Lexus.

DAYUMM!! Lexus is seriously on a roll. I mean seriously, in about 2 years, the entire line-up is going to be SICK!!! Shopping for a Lexus will be tough.

And thank god for the Panorama roof on the ES. I've been waiting for that for a long time. I guess its safe to say that the LS will be getting it as well.

Looks like the headlights are slightly simillar to the present ES and the grille is black and chrome. Are those 17" wheels?

Wow...love it! Looks good even with camo as yaro1 said. The rear overhang may seem long but I guess that's totally acceptable for a comfort-oriented sedan.

EDIT: Actually I like the C-pillar of the current ES better. The A-pillar makes it more like a Camry.

Even with the camo it looks like a huge improvement in styling over the current ES, imo. Looks like the 2006 Taste of Lexus is going to be an interesting one indeed.

Looks good from what I can see. Love the roof!

And yeah, what did happen to the panorama style roof on the RX330? I remember seeing it as an option with the 330 debut, but I never did see one in person. The brochure looked like having the glass roof on the RX canceled out the Levinson stereo and navigation though.

the ES is i think a already pretty decent size car, from these pics it looks even bigger. i wonder how lexus is gonna make an interior thats already perfect even better. i mean look at the current one? how could it be beaten?

I love the quote, that people sweat the sporty Lexus but the ES is a PERFECT Lexus as well. Wow, glad to see some more options like the panarama roof.

Yes...the next ES may be a good candidate for my next car.....but that is at least several years down the pike. I was very impressed with the present model, especially the interior, but couldn't stomach those headlights. To be honest, though, the IS300 seemed to be more solidly built. and with a more solid-feeling body.
