Default ES300 or Chrysler 300?

I'm thinking about trading in my 99 ES300 with 52k miles on it for a Chrysler 300 with 9k miles on it. What do you guys think? Keep in mind this is just the 300 limited not the 300C.

2 completely different cars in every way. If you can live with Chrysler interior, get it.

driven one, hated it.. the interior's very cheap feeling,, not lying but I rode on the rear once, when I closed the door, the upper trim came off <the part where the door panel ends and the window begins..> and this was a brand new car mind you... my biggest dislike was the steering, it felt really humm the only word I could think of is disconnected?? if you are looking for a car with more interior space, Id suggest looking for something else, my 2cnts...

i doubt the 300's steering could be any more disconnected than the ES.

You will notice a huge difference between the two in overall build quality & like another post, the two are totally different rides so whatever floats your boat.

I' ll take the exterior styling of the Chrysler any day, but there's no comparison in the interior & overall quality, it's a trade off you have to decide.

For the money you will spend on a 300, I suggest you get a pre-owned 'current' generation ES.

IMO, a Chrysler 300 has to have wheels on it to look right. I've seen the ones with Grandma's hubcaps on it and it looks plain and cheapens the look of the "Baby Bentley". I'd take the ES over it if you aren't planning to put new rims on it. The exterior looks good, but looks do decieve when you take a peek inside the cheap interior.

It sounds like you want out of the ES so I think it would be insensitive to your request to suggest another in place of your current one, otherwise you'd just keep the one you have right. With that said, is it safe to assume you're aware of the fit and finish of all american cars and its reliability record? The decision is yours, if like the 300 get it and and have fun, if you decide you don't like it down the road trade it, in the end its just a car, I will agree that the thing NEED the big wheels.

Like any decent size purchase check it out first, test drive it, go to a 300 forum and get the real on the car, you'll only get Lexus Lexus Lexus here and not the unbias info you really need to make an informed decision.

Maybe he doesn't care so much about the interior along with millions of other people who buy/bought American.

If you're not going to get the 300 Hemi, there's no contest between these two cars....and even then the only Chrysler advantage is the power. The ES330 blows the Chrysler away, quality-wise. I don't think there's a better-quality interior on the market under $40,000 than the ES330's....though the L.L. Bean Subaru Outbacks and Jaguar X-Class come close.

About the only advantage the chrysler has is size. When compared to a es 300 or 330, the lexus is better built and the quality of materials are far better than the 300C. Take a good close look at the lexus body and see how well all the doors, trunk, hood, bumper etc.. line up. Then take a close look at the chrysler body and you're sure to see a BIG DIFFERENCE. I've seen several in the garage I park in at work and let me say that Body Fit is not something chrysler is good at. In fact, I have yet to see a chrysler front bumper line up on both sides of the front hood and fenders. In the end, you should buy what makes you happy....its your hard earned money.
