The Crown is the most widely recognized car "name" in Japan. It's been around for 55 years or something like that. Quite a few corporate types use it as a chaffeur car.
Funny how the Japanese domestic market on the other hand has been able to accomodate all of the above vehicles, Celsior, Aristo and Crown, without worrying about the lineup being overly crowded.

which wouldn't be good for lexus in the US, if the crowns steal to much of the lexus sales
I meant to say, if Crown were brought in as a Lexus and slotted between the GS and the LS.

like i said originally Infiniti is able to sell their G35 sedan and their M cars why couldn't Lexus sell the Crown over here between the GS and LS and call it a junior executive sedan

I think that's one of the main reasons why they won't bring the Crown here, you need more space in the back (like the Avalon) to be a good rear passengers oriented car to make it comfortable for bigger Americans . . .
