Best option, Buy a 650i to drive today, order an M6 for delivery with hopes of delivery sometime in 2008.. The idea of paying a premium is silly.
I'll keep my eye out The M6 is a great car though

Some of these premiums dealers charge are insane. I recall seeing a Carrera S, MSRP I think is around $80K - dealer pricing was over $100k!

are u referring to the one located in the oc and near a certain scenic corridor w/ a 3 letter acronym? Only reason why i think that is the owner is Mormon and typically will not open for business on Sundays because of what you stated. If i were to ever buy a BMW, i'd go there, only because my wife knows the owner (she's mormon too )

Are dealers open on Sundays in most places? Here in Wisconsin and I believe Illinois too, it is illegal for car sales on Sunday thus all the dealers are closed.

They both are pretty sexy...not sure you could go wrong with either of them.

The CLS has grown on me but overall, I still prefer the 650ci.

the 6 looks better in my opinion, but i dont like BMW when it comes to reliability...
The 6 is way better in performance, and if ur a sporty guy i think you should wait for the M5, or if you are a luxury guy get a mercedes newer S or E, both are luxurious heavily

Default new cars

if people know the car has shady reliability and a new build model, why take the chance? I think the new gs looks just as good as the cls500. The 645 is nice, but the same could be said as well. I don't see the worth of these vehicles. they loose 15-20% value in one year. It blows my mind. I guess a new gs is outta the question?
btw what kinda finders fee for a m6 at retail???

Both have eye catching styling but since I'm a coupe man the 645 would be the choice. I've sat in both and was disappionted in the interiors of both. Especially the CLA. Benz has so many choices for interiors that it would win the interior battle. The 645 has this big cup holder that does not move. It's in the way and looks out of place. Just ruined it for me. I would still take a coupe over a sedan 7 days a week though. Especially one as sweet as the 6.

Cause you have neither driver nor owned either - that's why you don't see the worth.

Does it HAVE to be a choice between these two ...............or are you open to something else?
Neither one of these two cars, IMO, are worth what they cost....for a number of reasons.

Your suggestions are?

CPO CL55 I hear you can pick up low mileage 03's in the 80's (all the guys on MBworld are complaining about AMG cars depreciating like bricks)

I like the 6 too though, very appealing car

I totally agree D2 I get the CL in a heartbeat over these 2 choices.
And up to 04 is when MB still give you the free maintenance.

But b/t the 2, I would pick the 6 considering it's more of true sports coupe than the CLS.
I recently "heard" of a person with a brand new 05 6 that got flat-bed to the dealer

Go with the 6...CLS just doesn't do it for me. Personally I would just get an E55 and call it a day.

or

Get the new Z06! (I mean no one can fit in the back of the 6 anyway)
