Guys. I've gone from a LS400 to the X5 4.4i, and how fun it has been. Accelerating from nought to 60 like there's no tomorrow, taking turns sideways and what not.

But, whenever I get the chance to drive my moms LS430.. it's just another world. All the posh comfort in the world, with a 290hp motor waiting to be released. Those Mustang guys don't know what hit em!

Is this normal?



Why am I drawn towards the key without a key, why does it's subtle nature appeal to me? Is it because I was raised on a LS400? :x

Ha ha, nice pic. I moved here btw, haven't seen ya in awhile. I think you crave the harmony of the LS...

I was sitting in the LS today, not really thinking about the car...then I realized I took for granted the serenity, the effortless feel of the LS...

Grand_LS: Haha, I should take a pic of the Bimmer keys, the Lexus Smartkey and the Mercedes Keyless go picture. That'd be a hoot.

Enigma: You are taking it for granted, how many other cars give you the softttttest ride ever, and then still run a sub 6second 0-60!

very true, we are taking things really for granted with our lexus. i drive gs400 and sc430, i think it's "normal". when i sit in other cars, i always wonder "man, is it supposed to be like this?"

Help.
Cornering sideways is definitely not normal, and can be quite dangerous with higher-center of gravity vehicles like the X5. What has probably saved you from a flip-over is a combination of two things.....not having hit a curb or other wheel obstacle like that and BMW's traditional emphasis on handling even in its SUV's.

Youd guys hate my nissan 240sx.. with coilovers even the highway seems bumpy, but its ok because it will always be 3 bends ahead of the lexus, seeing how it was capable of cornering and slaloming at speeds where luxury cars would of surely plowed out of the road.. Me personally I feel extremely disconnected with a soft ride. Im just glad the older SCs aren't as soft as the LS and etc, even so I can't wait till extensive weight reduction and complete upgrade of the suspension is done. I guess luxury is not really all that important to me, especially if it comes at the price of a less nimble heavier, understeer prone vehicle, then again stripping a luxury car and seeing its naked metal structure seems to affect my point of view, I tend to see the options that make a luxury car as merely an illusion..

Marshall traction control off, and less traction on the rear will have that high center gravity vehicle sliding before it flips over. (And as long as transitions are done smoothly theres no reason why he should flip over... still not a good idea to be doing it on a street though.)

Have you driven an X5?

It's not a Lexus SUV.

hahhahaa, we don't hate your car, at least i don't. when i was posting, i was actually referring to some other STOCK cars
