Default Just Bought a LS 430 2004

Hi guys been on the older LS 400 forum, I own a 90 LS 400. Just totalled my Jaguar XJ8.

Decided to go with old faithful LS, so I bought a 04 LS430. Anything I should know about these cars?

I pray they are as safe as my Jaguar was, it saved my life.

Thanks!

Welcome! Great looking car. Key to these is the service history, which you can get on the owner's section of lexus.com by entering your VIN. Hopefully, you'll never need the excellent collision safety features.

Was that a head on collision? Also, whats that lurking under that cover in the garage? Sure does not look like a 90 LS400

Ouch! Sry to see such a beautiful Jag like that. Least you're ok right? Very nice LS430, I think you will like it. A bit heavier than the Jag, but more torque so acceleration should be very close. The LS430 is very safe, sometimes too safe (I wish I could turn off VSC). How did you like the XJ8? What are your thoughts b/t the XJ and LS?

Yes it was a head on collision, the car in the Garage is a Porsche 928S4

The Lexus is Beautiful but not as classy as the Jag. The Jags materials (interior) much nicer and classier. The Lexus has alot of bells and whistles and reality is, Jaguars are expensive to maintain. When a Tranny cost you 8k you have to be rich to own one. Thats why I took a more Concervative approach this time. But I still love my Jag and will miss it dearly.

I don't know about that I just know that I had my 928 over 160 mph and I felt wonderful and everywhere I drive it people come talk to me about it. I don't seem to get that in the LS??

Sorry but In Southern California a lowered LS with nice Rims is not a rare site.

Haha I bet. Went to Beverly Hills once and Bentley Continentals were like Ford Fusions here...just everywhere. I also saw my first (and only) Bugatti Veyron there, an SLR, Phantoms, Maybachs, etc. Just paradise to me. For comparison sake, I am currently in Lansing and almost always get stopped at car washes with people complimenting the car and asking about it. Here an LS430 is as good as it gets. There is, however, a Ferrari enthusiast nearby who has a 360 spider and an F430, but that's like .0001% of MI.

Beautiful car. 928 was 2nd favorite Porsche for me, first was the 1984 Porsche 911.

Mythbusters had done a drag co' myth saying that the 928 was actually designed to be more aerodynamic backwards than forward. Anyway, it was proven to be a myth...
