Not only that, what is really funny is, they can't market that win over here since it's a Honda Legend in Japan and a Acura RL here. They should have kept it the Legend (name) here.

1-series=sigh.....

Well, I think they still could legitimately market it as Japan's Car of the Year if they really want to since it's the same car.

Agreed. But the Crown is - without quesiton - the most beautiful car of the 10 vehicles listed.

I suppose the Fuga and then the RL follow with all the others trailing far behind.

In terms of simply updating the car to current flagship and sport-sedan standards, I'd have to agree with the RL's Japanese COTY award, too. I know there will be some people who gripe about a 300 HP V6 rather than a 300-plus HP V8 and rear-drive, but the HP boost and the sophisticated torque-and-wheel speed SH All-Wheel-Drive addition alone is a huge advance over the old car. While I haven't had a chance to test-drive it yet and see for myself, what I have read about it indicated that for people used to the supple ride of the old car, they may have stiffened the suspension and tires too much...it may turn some people off as well as attract new ones. We'll wait and see.
