Will Lexus ever make a MINIVAN?

Wow, you guys did some digging to bump up a thread this old.
Even after 10 years, though, I still have to agree on the Sienna. Its sales over the years have been so good that it probably doesn't need a Lexus version.

Mercedes basically did that with the R-class, but it was kinda ugly. I can’t find the source at the moment, but apparently the Honda Odyssey Elite is a favorite among wealthy families that buy minivans. Now whether it’s the nanny driving them while Mom drives a giant luxury SUV is another question.
Didn't even notice.

It already covers the whole spectrum, from the no-tint, cloth interior version available for mid-$20s (and even a 4 cyl up til last year) to a Limited AWD loaded with Lexus-like stuff that with all options (Premium Pkg) can push $50k. Not sure what Lexus could really add in order to make it worth what would have to be a price premium over that.....what else would a van have to be worth $60k+?

Really? I just bought my wife a loaded Toyato Vellfire for about $80K US dollars (Depending on the exchange rate) to haul the kids around. I can tell you it beats the interior of the IS-F by a long shot. I have never owned a GS, but from what I have seen, they look very similar. Not up to the standards of the LS, leather quality, options etc.

Indeed, you can't go wrong with JDM Minivans

Yep, old thread.
For the sake of car chat, I'll add. That will never happen.
Minivans are not widely accepted here vs. an suv.
It's all about the image.
Well, you guys are not from the U.S. where minivans are looked down upon when shopping against an suv
That vellfire is awesome though

I think this is really the issue, a minivan isn't compatible with the image conscious buyer that would be swayed by a luxury brand. That buyer buys a crossover.
If I were going to spend $60k+ (as a few others have said, these things are close to $50k loaded as Toyotas/Hondas/etc) lots of things I'd buy before a Lexus minivan, a Mercedes GL comes to mind. A Range Rover Sport. A Lexus GX, an Infiniti QX60 loaded to the gills...
