I couldn't help myself. It's a 2002 with only 18K miles on it. When I went to drive it the owner wouldn't let me drive it that day as it was raining. I had to go back a couple of days later. That's the type of owner you want to buy from eh? He was a young guy in over his head and I got a great deal.
Anyway, it's a 5 speed 4.6L Laser Red with the "Premium" package. That's leather, MACH 460 stereo etc...
The first mod is to replace the dash pod with the Auto-Use Lunar guages. The stock one's are gray on black and totally unreadable with sunglasses on. The second mod is the STEEDA lowering kit and cold air intake, then BORLA cat back, then....
A neighbour of mine has one of those (I think it is the GT) and the sound it makes (and it appears to be stock mufflers on his car), is just plain awesome!!!
I wish I could make my GS have a similar sound......................
Congrats on the purchase man, good luck and have fun with it. I, myself, am not a huge fan of the mustang or any American cars or truck but my neighbor across the street has a 69ish Mustang and it has this awesome sounding exhaust. Nice low grumble and loud, very nice i must admit.

I just love the sound of a V-8

Yeah - those Mustang GT 4.6 liters do sound mighty good with a few modifications.
Normally I think you guys all go a little nuts with your car-dropping (lowering) - but the mustangs - ALL of them, including Cobras, desperately need the springs replaced on all four corners. They are jacked up worse than any other car.
nice car man, congrats... personally thats my fav generation of 'stang (more so than the upcoming included). What all plans do you have for it? The Saleen kits look SICCCCKKKKK on it. Also, I remember on hot rod tv, a 95-97 4.6L got 30whp just from filter, header, and cheap exhaust. The good thing is, mods are dirt cheap too compared to Lex. Have fun with it!
Congragulations.....but I hope you're still in love with this car when you see the new 2005 Mustang in a couple of months. It will have a remake of the 1967-68 front end and interior and the 1965-66 fastback roofline and rear end.
