I'll take my chances with the bot cars on the road vs distracted humans. Went around a weaver in the left lane over the weekend and thought they were drunk when I passed they were holding their phone above the steering wheel probably live streaming or making a video.

I'm a fan of autonomous cars, but this is funny Probably wouldn't be if i was directly affected, but ya know...

I really hope more companies do what GM does with super-cruise - map the highways and make those full autonomous. Taking the boring part of long drives out would be incredible.

 

hyundai already offers 'highway driving assist' by the way, which is on my santa fe caligraphy. it 'knows' when i'm on a major highway/interstate/turnpike and when engaging adaptive cruise, HDA shows in the gauge cluster. when that's on, i can take my hands of the wheel for several minutes at a time it seems and it does just fine. super cruise is no doubt better, letting you keep your hands off for longer.

 

Scotty was actually correct when he said that Musk made a number of promises he didn't (or couldn't) keep.

 

This is so damn impressive, but then a situation comes up where FSD doesn't know what to do. At least it did nothing.

The visual data is not the problem interpreting it is. If the opposite was true then Lucid would have the best system anywhere they have the most sensors of any car by far, to my knowledge

 

tesla's system being limited to cameras means it can't function in fog or heavy rain, or likely very well at night either.

 

What system not limited to only cameras can drive in heavy rain and fog?
