wow...i guess i won't be buying no late model cars anytime soon.

 

Well, like I said, this is not something that is industry-wide. I know some GM cars have it.
And the cars that DO have these devices.........to my knowledge, they can only be downloaded by a court order in connection with criminal or civil cases, defect investigations, etc..... This is NOT something that any jerk can just rip out and plug into his/her PC for any reason.

 

I guess the car companies have to protect themselves... it's a lose lose situation for them..

they have to make cars cheaper, nicer and faster but hope that people don't abuse them.... tough to be in the auto industry....
