If the E class had the same engine then it could compete with the new M5 no problem. Too bad it doesn't offer in North America.

Panty wagon!!

Gawd that's............. um................ YEAH!

Wasnt it Clements who recently said something like if Lexus updates their motors, BMW sales are screwed.

I wonder where all the 7-series sales went.
I don't understand this link. The 2002 7-series was the new design. LexusLuver, what exactly is your point here?

even so, LS430 YTD sales are up 72%, the 7-series is down.

Thumbs down We're not all fooled

Sounds like what some of you guys are trying to say ( and I'll say it in plain English ) is that post-Bangle BMW sales ARE going to be screwed...but only with the real BMW enthusiasts. Unfortunately, there are are a lot of people ot there who will buy a vehicle ( yes, even one of Bangle's ) based on image only, without really looking into what they are getting, and those computer junkies who like to play with joysticks.....like the I-Drive. So BMW sales overall may or may not be screwed in the long run, but they have DEFINITELY gone down the tubes with real BMW enthusiasts.......that is a no-brainer.

So your post was meant to point out that the re-done LS430 sales are up and the current 7 series sales are down. Right?

and 5-series sales didnt go up after a redisign.
actually I think 7-series sales would probably wouldnt have changed either.

BMW sales are off 1200 units and 6200 w/o the X3 and 6series.
Audi is down 1002
MB down 2400
VW down 17800
Lincoln down 107

Are up:

Cadillac 5000
Lexus 13200
Acura 10000
Infiniti 5000

Im quoting an outside source so the numbers might not be exact, there still is a general pattern.
Lexus seems to have secured their SUV market, I think they'll make huge gains in the car segment in a few yrs. Lexus has grown some 20% this yr w/o any halo cars.

Question 7-speeds?

This is getting a bit ridiculous...I think, for a car capable of only 155mph governed, that 7 gears provide only more shifts. Heck, even at 185, 6 is enough. Has it really come down to "I have more gears, nanneenanneebooboo"? Bangle is a mess, sheesh.
