yeah, it was featured in Zoom magazine a while back (aussie mag that you can ussually find in the states at most bookstores)- the really impressive on though is the 1UZ that they crammed in the Mustang Cobra.

pretty crazy, dont really like the mesh in front of the FMIC though, why hide it?

 

TWIN turbo to be precise... Looks like i'm gonna have to head down to the drag strip he mentions in the thread; not far from me, and it would be an experience to say the least!!!

If you drive on gravel roads or anywhere there are loose rocks on the road surface the mesh beats replacing your intercooler.

Beautifully stuffed engine bay btw.

I think the reason you see so much happening with these motors here is because they are so cheap! I can pick up a second hand imported 1UZ (from a jap crown, or Soarer), for around AUD$1200.

To put that into perspective, a decent V8 Soarer (SC400) costs around AUD$17,000 here... A 3SGTE (original turbo engine from the Alltrac) would actually be more than a 1UZ!!!

So yeah, a few kit cars and custom swaps are floating around here...

 

Must be the cheap gas!!

 

Good find Pat, never seen that Turbo 1uzfe Celica before, I think my 1uzfe V-8 is missing something now Too bad there isnt enough room under the LS's hood. Oh well could possibly be a project to work on next year.
