Anyone know LS1 pricing?

If you know anything about what an LS1 swap should be worth could you please pm me... I don't have any friends who know anything about the value of any domestic parts, and I need some advice

a new motor, used motor
out of a z28 or corvette?
those things cost a little extra.
its not expensive @ all
a person i know did it all motor and tranny in a 1984 iroc like 2.5k

Is there anyway you can find out where he sourced his swap? All the prices I have been running into have been @$3600-$4000 for motor, trans, ecu, etc.
