how old are the children? when i was a teenager and went to italy for the first time with my mom and sisters, the tiny fiat my uncle had couldn't take all of us to his house so he said i could go on a train to a station nearby (about 90 minute train ride). sure... don't speak the language, had never been abroad, had no idea where i was going. but sure. it was character building.
Really little, like 2 and 5. Oh even if they were my kids age we'd make it home, but not that little.
That does sound like an adventure haha
I was down in DC last night for dinner. In the city regular was $5.99 and premium was $6.89. Shocking!
Strategic reserves are at the lowest since the 80s, mid june pricing is looking ugly for gas prices. If things dont improve, folks who said prices are moving up to the $10 mark can get there chicken dinner.
Evs and hev adoption looking mighty spicy. Yo Legacy auto, restart those ev plans lol
I've often wondered how these gas stations make any money. The land they are on is really valuable, very few people buy gas there because the prices are insane, and they don't have repair shops etc.

Do they have a convenience store on the property, car wash, repair biz etc? Otherwise they are public traded company with millions in revenue with only the very best legal businesses ever
Man, I thought gas price gouging was illegal or prohibited.
Gouging would require lack of supply (typically during an emergency shortage) where the consumer has little to no choice but to buy your product, water, food, gas.... at a so-called price gouging level. Otherwise, free to advertise and sell at any price ya want.

Believe it or not it's mostly from the convenience stores. The gas revenue goes to the oil companies, at least I think. It's like movies, they don't make one penny in ticket sales... it's ALLLL from the food and drinks.
Yeah a station doesn't make money really on gas, its made from the store and repair shop etc but I don't see many people going into the convenience store if they aren't stopping for gas

lottery tickets, cigs, beer, junk food, soft drinks (you know, all the finer things in life ) ... lots of people go in without getting gas.
