Gas is expensive for 2 reasons in Vegas.

1) supply: Southern Nevada gets our gasoline from California. This is gas that's refined to meet California emissions and consequently is expensive. On top of this, California is rapidly shuttering refineries causing the supply to drop.

2) gas taxes: Clark County has a high combined state and local fuel tax. The flip side is our roads are pretty decent.

And regular is $4.85 at the Costco near me

Yes and no. It does cost more to run the delivery trucks to the grocery stores, and farmers have to pay more for petroleum-based fertilizer (for their crops), and to run their farm-machines, when oil prices are high. But, at least for the last 5 years or so, that has also been the case, even when gas was much lower, down to $3.00 or under.

nice try lol. Grocery prices are high because fuel prices have risen, and the uncertainty of the United States is a huge problem as many countries have moved on because of uncertain trade policies

This was $4 USD,

That wasn't a "try"...the fact is that grocery prices have been steadily-climbing for the last 5 years, even when oil prices were much lower than they are now. Obviously, expensive diesel fuel doesn't help, but there are definitely more factors than that....that is not the only one.

its common sense that rising gas prices cause higher food prices. US gas prices are gonna stay $4+ permanently

Diesel prices are ridiculously high which directly affects grocery prices and everything else transported by big trucks.

Setting new record prices daily in the Midwest. Today’s all-time high average diesel prices:

Wisconsin: $5.94
Illinois: $6.11
Indiana: $6.12
Michigan: $6.09

This raises the price of everything.
