Wait a minute. That picture may (?) be fake. Look at the outboard "engine" on the left wing. It certainly does not match the inboard engine, which appears to be at partly a true engine. What should be a matching outboard engine there actually looks like a large external fuel tank. Also, on the inboard engine, it looks like part of the back of it is raggedly chopped off. I say that picture is highly suspect.

to @Och 's point it doesn't really take that much force to roll something along on a flat surface with no gradient, i still think the most impressive part of the test is that the touareg was able to hold all that extra ballast weight without destroying the suspension or tires

Thats because they wanted to use a fully working plane but were only able to get a "prop" old decommissioned one. VW calculated that the V10 would be able move a full weight 747-400 that was much heavier than the one they ended up moving but had to "settle" for what they could get
ok so after some research it's definitely a real former 747-200 (registration G-BDXJ) but the engines are fake, added for the first daniel craig bond film
Yep, VW wanted the full weight plane but they year they had

At one point they used that as a test track as part of Range rover events. Theres another one 744 now there as well.
Thats the ole BA 747-200 on the top gear test track thats featured on different movies including bond flicks etc.The fuel pods and carrier engines were mounted after the fact. I dont remember the 787 style nacelle on those but wow when did that happen?

OK fine......either way, the poimt I ws making was that the moment I looked at it, I could tell that somethng on the wing was fake, whether the inboard engine, outboard engine, or both.
