We have a TT and hope to use it more this year than last. Here's a picture of us driving through TX.

I've never been real camping.
When I was a kid my grandparents pulled up in our driveway in a big motorhome and us kids slept in it for a few nights with no electric or AC. Lol

But it never left the driveway.

Camper and motorhome stories are invited!

admittedly i'm an anomaly: i don't understand the draw in doing this or any type of camping! why do you guys like doing this?!

i've had heated discussion with my wife who grew up camping - and wants to instill the same love to our kids - which leads me to tag along anyway. i do like to pilot things so driving a big machine or towing something does intrigue me but that's it - show me the nearest hotel!

sidenote: i'm an immigrant so i've slept on the ground in my early years so perhaps that's a big part of my aversion. now that i sleep on a bed, i can't go back !

We have a quite large (but old) Pop-up. Its a lot of work to set up and take down. I bought a bigger truck in February and wifey has been looking at toy hauler 5th wheels. Probably going to see if we can grab a used one this fall because when the season is over people love to unload their campers they used for 5 trips for stupidly low money, so they can go buy the next latest, greatest thing.

i'm all for hiking and scenic nature walks but give me a nice mattress i don't wanna sleep on the ******* ground... and if you have nice accomodations then it's not camping!

It's definitely not something that appeals to everyone.

For me and my family, it really is just the most fantastic family time. No screens or devices. We're out riding bikes, playing with the dog, going on hikes, swimming, playing games, chatting around the campfire, etc. I've got a comfortable bed in my trailer, a functional kitchen, and my own clean, private bathroom and shower. And if we're out camping, you know what I'm not doing? I'm not mowing the lawn, doing laundry, cleaning the house, or even thinking of chores!

see that's bear grylls camping, what you're describing actually sounds nice lol... to me it's not 'camping' if you're not uncomfortable on the floor in a tent

LOL right? It was a lot of years of roughing it for me, but the family was a little less enthused. So my compromise with them in order to do more camping was to get a trailer. The first time we all took it out, they loved it but I kept thinking to myself "this doesn't feel like camping" but over the years I've come to get used to it and absolutely love it. Not sure I could go back to tent camping...at least not very easily!

So...I'm not a "camper". I always say roughing it for me is a hotel without room service.

BUT, I definitely see the appeal of traveling in a motorhome or RV. Its not "camping" because you have your own space, bed, luxuries, you just get to go and see a bunch of cool places. To me its like boating but on land. I have gotten into watching YouTubers who have nice Class A Motorhomes and travel all over the country...that I definitely see the appeal of. Obviously thats extremely expensive but these campers/RVs here give you a lot of that lifestyle for a more accessible cost.

I am too old and spoiled to exist without creature comforts. No camping of any kind for me, I don't even do airbnb with all their nonsense, hotels only with some sort of service.

Agree on the Air BnB, just too much bullshit unless its a big house with a big group or something.

But...this is creature comforts!

The bus is nice, but it should also come with a butler to set it up and clean it every time.
