riiiiight. and you have to show comparisons that start at 40mph, lol. i don't find them offensive, i find the endless comparisons and snipes juvenile.
i respect the capabilities of tuned/tricked out ice cars and i respect ev's. but since i'm not interested in insane speed, i have no interest in driving or owning a super fast ice or ev car on public roads. i did love driving my lc500 on the sebring racetrack. it felt right at home even if it's more 'grand tourer' than sports car.
the model s is no longer made, so not really relevant now.
You find a reason to defend why it lost.
You’re offended and you felt the need to defend.🪖
Next time maybe they will do it from a dig on the highway. 🙄
The MK5 Supra has ended production same year as the plaid. Even Stephen.
While I agree with you that fuel economy is important to the masses, here's proof that drivers and the masses want better engines and there's a huge number of them.... I mean, this is a vehicle built for them. I feel like I'm in the 1990s with them bragging about a V6 option here in this ad to attract buyers. Looks like the V6 is standard in this vehicle. Finally, a smart move from Nissan.
But how does it sell relative to its rivals? The V6 is the only thing they have to tout over all of its competitors which are all 4cyl now.
With gas prices being as high as they are and getting higher, consumers desire for fuel economy is just going to become bigger and bigger.
Whats interesting is Nissan took the V6 out of the Infiniti QX60 (same vehicle) and the 4 cyl REALLY lets that vehicle down.
I hear a very original G35 V6 type sedan even with a stick is coming back. Nissan is finally making smart moves.
Now that I think about it, if that thing has a CVT it sucks to me if I were a customer but at least it does have 6 cylinders.
I don't entirrrrrrely disagree with you re: gas prices affecting buyer decisions and the masses etc etc but it ain't stopping gas guzzlers from being sold right now either.. Escalades are still flying off lots. So many of us don't give a **** about MPG.
Honda updated the Accord specifically to make it look less like a hybrid, that's kinda notable.

I can remember when the Pacer was introduced...that was a clever commercial. Unfortunately, I never reviewed or test-drove one, so I can't speak from direct experience, but, from what I have read in reviews, it had a lot of quirks, and, in general, was not well-accepted by the publc.
I also remember in high school getting picked up for a date by somebody in a Pacer. Never seen one before but I thought that car was butt-ugly. I mean fugly. No offense. Like some futuristic Jetsons-wanna-be car. Ugh. The horror of being seen in one... Just kidding. All jokes aside.
He was the only one I remember having a Pacer. And to my recollection, he didn't have it for very long...

Trouble is, though, that's the kind of car that everyone says that they want, but when push comes to shove they don't actually buy.

At some point we all do. When fill ups are much more than they used to be, and almost everything we buy has gone up because the diesel used to transport them has gone up, and you realize that the underlying reasons for these specific increases were entirely preventable, we all should.

Its kind of all Nissan has.
Its not a CVT, its a 9 speed.

I just paid over $5 for high test for the first time I can remember...in a VERY long time. $64 to fill the S580 from just under 1/2 a tank. When it becomes clear this is going to be how it is and worse for the foreseeable future, buying behavior will change.

Infiniti has problems moving qx80s, which in the lineup is flagship level. The customer base is use to the stellantis model of huge factory support, and loosening buyer requirements. They need to move volume, reduce unit warranty costs, and expand their CUV lineup. I predict the g35 will be a huge blunder.

Very true. Cadillac just discontinued the CT4 due to poor sales. The CT4 Blackwing has a 3.6L twin turbo V6 with a manual trans just like this upcoming Infiniti and it wasn't enough. If Infiniti goes through with a new sporty sedan, I think it will have a short run and meet the same fate.

Yea I don't see many QX80's. Oddly they're considering adding a Track Spec and Terrain Spec to the QX80 lineup. Granted they are just concepts and may not happen but when Tiago Castro (VP Infiniti Americas) speaks about them, it sounds like they will happen.
It seems Infiniti is attempting a brand revival and if we get a new G35/Q50 with that beastly twin turbo V6, I'm all for it. I just don't think it'll sell that well.

We all should what exactly? **** the government. **** everyone, I'll live my life the way I want lol and that's NOT toward you lol so don't take it that way. I don' t care if gas stayed at what it is, I'd still drive what I drive and still yearn for an Escalade V that gets 9mpg. **no politics**

Everybody lives their life the way they want, which is why they buy cars with better fuel economy vs larger engines…because that’s what they want.
Most people don’t care about performance over cost, and you drive very little and basically just for fun. If you drive a lot and for commuting etc like most people do you would be much less interested in a 9 MPG Escalade V with premium gas approaching $6 a gallon. For most people a car is just an appliance and they don’t see the value in paying all of that money to fuel something thirsty for daily use. For a fun vehicle you don’t drive very much, it’s less important.
