Default 2005 S class ?

What do you think ? I like the elegant front end, but the rear end doesn't look good.

I will have to agree with you on this one.

The front is very elegant, but the rear just isn't nice at all. It looks too out of place to go with the front.

i think they're trying to give it a sportier look then the old boring big boat look. its a little tacky in the bak but overall nice. much better then then the older ones.

the back is pretty.... ugly... I guess they only care about first impressions rather than lasting impressions... IMO

Agreed, the front looks pretty nice. The tail end, I like a car with a bit of "back" to it. Though this design is probably aerodymanic.

Seems to me that various manufacturers are modeling the whole line after the flagship car. BMW 7 & 5 and if I didn't know better, I'd say Nissan/ Infinity have only one sedan.

I agree, looks like they are trying to take the Sclass upmarket, and tie in its family ties with the Maybach while sepatating it from the C,E,CLK, etc etc

Back is still better than the new 7 though

I'm not feelin' it...I think the front looks a little too angled and pointy...and on the exaggerated fender flares

Looks pretty good except for the door seams and fender flares.

I agree. It looks very nice, I like the direction they are moving now with this car. The current S doesn't look as "substantial" or "imposing" like the previous version of the S class.

Looks like it will take some time for people to accept the S-class with the new, sportier front shape and stance, and the new integrated fog lamps. It might be the angle of the pictures taken, but the wheelbase seems shorter than the current S.

Bah, people say the same thing about the Maybach, assume it is copying Hyundai.

But Hyundai is the company which is always copying european designs, so why should the europeans suddenly quit their designs because some korean manufacturer likes to copy them (anyway)?

Although it doesnt have the "Big Body" styling of the old one, I LOVE the current SClass, I think the lines flow nicely, and the shape has excellent proportions! I think its design is going to last along time like the 1st gen GS!!
