Ya ya... peace love and waterbeds. It's pretty hard to disconnect driving in a larger city.

Nothing new here. That guy's Cherokee was once a new vehicle and I'm sure that some folks back then thought it was too complicated with a lot of stuff on it they don't need.

I don't hate new tech at all as long as I have absolute control over data and all features. I don't want to "own" something that has external controls

Back in the day I was able to identify everything under the hood of my car. It was a necessity because the damn thing needed constant attention. Today, I have no idea what exists under the hood nor have much reason to lift the hood anyway. I consider that a good thing, including the tech.

Actually, yes. That and the oil filler cap are among the few recognizable and accessible items upon lifting the hood.

looks like the battery is easily accessible? Not buried under a seat like in an Audi

upon lifting the hood.
no hood props to fumble with?

All of my cars are 4G fully connected crap that everyone started putting in their vehicles to sell data. my MDX and GS have the old 3g transmitters that no longer work. and my TSX is too ancient for any of that.

When I buy new or has less than 90k miles I never pop the hood or work on it.

Wouldn't care if it had a dipstick or not because I would hire someine else to work on it anyway in the rare event it would need anything.

The only reason why I did some work on my existing old car is because I had some extra time to spend on it.

If I get too busy, it will go to the shop and I won't mess with it.
