Which reminds me to change oil in the Prius. I’ve been meaning to do that, 4k miles past due now🫣
Except on club Lexus. 🙃 I read what’s posted on here then my friend tells me about his teslas going in for service and makes me think wth is he doing to his teslas or he bought some lemons.
Someone just posted they saw the Tesla service center full of vehicles.
He was talking about JDP in that post, GX isn't even in the CR survey.
Okay got it sorry, I was referring to the picture posted before. That study was 00-24 but if the current normal rankings exclude the GX that's not gonna be good for them when it's included
My 2015 IS350 F-Sport had a head gasket leak at 80k miles despite doing all maintenance by the books at the dealer and driving it normally. Aside from that, the gas mileage was worse than my C8 Corvette that is over twice as fast.
While I really enjoyed my Lexus for the 4 years I owned it, there were some obvious flaws and I can at least appreciate why people don't love them.
For starters, the gas mileage was the worst of any vehicle I've owned. Unacceptable for a 300hp engine. The transmission was extremely sluggish and the paddle shifters were worthless.
The infotainment was the worst of any vehicle I've ever used, and I get rental cars regularly with work. The F Sport brakes squeeked constantly and the dealer couldn't figure it out after 4 years of ownership. And the tire wear was awful - I know there is a fix for this on the F Sports but you shouldn't have to go aftermarket to fix this.

My IS 500 had the throttle body replaced at 14k miles. Just recently I've developed the low rpm "chirp" that could lead to a HPFP replacement. This one is a bit tricky though. Conflicting info on it and it's hard to find out how many guys had theres replaced.
Since the day I picked up the car I get a "Please check rear seat" message almost every time I get out.
At the end of the day no car is perfect. I drove Lexus and Toyota problems for a long time, and now I drive cars that are very lowly rated for reliability and my experience is not all that different, honestly. They're not perfect but then my Lexus vehicles weren't either. However, if I was going to buy a car that I wanted to depend on for 150k miles I would still buy a Toyota or Lexus.

Ouch what a bad experience. I would’ve hated it too, if bought new it should’ve qualified as a true lemon. My 15 started life as a lease from Beverly Hills Lexus. When I got it the mileage was under 50K. I’m kind of a hot rod at times but my mileage is between 22-27. The 8 speed trans is fine as are the paddles although I prefer the stick. The ML stereo sounds great and my tire mileage is fine too. The brakes do squeak when cold which can be fixed temporarily but remember they’re pretty much racing brakes. I had the opportunity to drive a Lambo, Ferrari and a Porsche around the Sonoma racetrack and all their brakes squealed something awful.
Expected better from Tesla. And Rivian doesn’t look very good
no you didn't.

because 'reliability' issues that cause teslas to be brought to service centers are not about maintenance, they're typically about rattles, fitment issues, etc.
and i figured you knew this rather than taking another cheap shot.

this makes no sense to me in responding to bayeaux's post. it wasn't about ice vehicles.

Thats the normal IS350 experience, the trans is slow and dumb and MPG like that is literally worse than my 12 cyl cars or TTV8 that makes over 800hp.
Brakes are not racing brakes at all, just a common street/light track pad that is metallic to give better fade resistance and bite. Racing pads don't bite much until heated up
electric cars typically only need tire rotation and tires, alignment, and not much else. maintenance is different than service / warranty fixes.

service not equal to maintenance

with millions on the road, how is that surprising? my local toyota dealer is always full of CR darlings too.

troll. it wasn't a tall tale, and i wasn't the first to remove it. but you'll be happy to know (not) that i've re-installed it.
Oh you can totally get away with nothing but oil for 100-150k in anything modern. If you don't change oil I've personally seen new cars make it over 45k so you get at least that much
