Perhaps.....I may be looking at an XK convertible near Orlando
Your grandparent’s may be cool. But my grandpa taught Johnny Cash how to run the Southern 4501 for the “Hurt” video. My mom still refers to the 4501 as “her” train. Today’s her birthday (78) so that’s why this was on my mind.
@Striker223 , if you want an XK, I’m all in. Look at low mile ones in the Seattle area, they are cherry. I’ll test them out and get them loaded on the trailer for you. Way better than buying a Florida or SE worn-out one.
This is a cheap take-off of the most poignant music video you can ever find.
Last point; papaw never ran this, (he worked for the Southern, as shown), but my dad ran this. Civil War “General” when it was in the Lousivlle Roundhouse in the ‘60s. He wasn’t an engineer but took it out as a boilermaker apprentice once, down to Lebanon Junction and back. he also ran a ‘66 Chevelle SS396 with a 4.16 rear end for street money, kind of a bad *** if I do say so (we still fight, he’s 78 and still an *******). Anyway, more train ****…
Made it back from Ocean City! I hate travelin g back on Saturday, but with condos thats what you have to do. Sat in traffic at the Bay Bridge about 35 minutes which all things considering isn't bad.
My daughter won this enormous otter on the boardwalk. By won I mean she threw a ball at the bottles and I paid the guy $100 to give her the otter lol.
He didn't get to ride this way...
Pacifica is a champ. 23.5 MPG coming back with a square roof container with 5 chairs, 2 boggie boards, sand chairs, beach toys and a beach cart on the roof. You could really feel the resistance with that up there. Plus 5 people and the rest of it loaded up top the roof. Might be its last beach trip as the lease is up in September of 2026 and I usually replace them at least 3 months before the end. We will see.
Got it cleaned up and worked on my dings a little. Got the paint transfer out, there are two fairly small areas where its down to bare metal. The lower ding has a longer strip where the clearcoat is gone but the color coat is still there. Ding guy comes Tuesday and he is going to touch it up and wetsand etc. Will look fine enough I'm sure.

The 02/03 ES300 is not tuned any differently than a Camry, just different gas used for EPA test. If you look at head-to-head Camry vs Es300 numbers for that period, they look different in specs. But that’s because they don’t have the same engine. Camry got VVTi, 5 speed, etc., on a rolling basis behind the ES. That way they kept the ES more premium by holding the new tech back vs. Camry.
Is it even recommended? Because in 2011 it just started saying "87 minimum".

Ok you had me for a second when you said she won it because I used to see people walking on the boardwalk with those big stuffed animals and it was impossible for me to win one. I spent a bunch of money and I couldn’t even come close to winning one but I guess I wasn’t smart enough to pay the guy off either.

So the key is ask the guy how much to win the thing you want to win. He said $200 but he would do it for $140. I suggested $100 and sold lol. She HAD to have the otter lol.
I’ve seen it all now. Not sure why I get so annoyed with inconsiderate people but I was at my grocery store and went to cut through the walkway with my cart in the parking lot to get to my car and this is what is see:
What a loser, the person parked in between two handicapped spaces and the sad thing is there were plenty of regular parking spaces around. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised based on the make and model of the car around here…

I went over today to try and charge the AC on the ES300, unfortunately the compressor isn't cycling. @Striker223 I assume the compressor is shot. Is it possible its so low on refrigerant it won't click on? It wouldnt take any refrigerant since it wasn't running. The compressor is cheap, about $190, have you ever replaced one? How difficult is it?
Also this was the state of the wiper blades:
She said she just stops and waits for the rain to stop LOL. Replaced those. It also needs tires bad, the fronts are bald and they are really old in general. Have to decide what to do before I put any money into it.
