I’ve always bought Toyotas because of the repair horror stories you hear about other manufacturers.

Boring? I can see that. Now I’m Bringing My Wallet

I’ve always gone with Toyotas due to the repair horror stories you see from other manufacturers. Toyota isn’t perfect. Boring? Yes I can see that but a lot of people choose boring and reliable everytime.

However now I’m Bringing My Wallet.

More like Prozac on wheels. I'm not trying to rag on Toyota, but as someone who bought the product over 30 years, cars like the Camry were always boring, but if you owned the V6's like I did, at least it was enjoyable. I actually feel really sorry for RAV4 drivers, they always look so miserable, and having rented a couple of them, I can see why.

You know when the Boomer/Gen Z CR reading generation dies out, I think Toyota may be in real trouble. Maybe that's the 20 percent YoY drop we are seeing

I have several family members and friends with RAV4s that are very happy with them. No need to feel sorry for them…

I loved my prime. Still have the RAV4 hybrid. It’s a solid vehicle. It has features the BMW doesn’t have.

The point, Jill, that Bit is trying to make is whether the "demand" for new Toyotas is actually justified by TODAY's realities, or is the company just cruising on a stellar reputation of the past? I have long-maintained that, with the exception of a few vehicles like the 4Runner that have actually kept much of their former quality, Toyota, Honda, and Nissan all three did their best vehicles in the 1990s, and it has been a long, slow, steady march downhill from there.

I was actually waiting for you to weigh in . You already know my stance on the RAV4. I don't think it's a bad vehicle either, just not for me. I'm not a fan of 4 cylinders. And I didn't mean to upset any Rav4 owners, my apologies. I only meant to upset BayeauLex 🤣

I've driven the current generation RAV it is supremely average in almost every way. And feels like a snail in comparison to my Highlander and Tesla.

Comfort access (example on the Rav I can lock/unlock the doors by touching the rear door handles) can’t do that on BMW
When under maybe 15-18mph while in drive, the 360 camera automatically appears on the screen (on the BMW I have to press a button for the camera to appear)
Adaptive cruise control is standard on all 2018+ Toyotas (it’s a package on BMW) It’s standard on the Supra although everything else is BMW

And finally…I miss buttons. BMW is mostly touchscreens. Does have some buttons.

LOL. I loved the prime more than the regular hybrid Rav. If the non hybrid Rav is even worse, I can only imagine.

When my daughter is old enough to drive, a hybrid Rav would be on my list of vehicles to buy her. Would I buy another one for myself? Probably not.

2 great vehicles but I would say a PHEV Rav will do everything just as good if not better than a Highlander except haul more butts.

I would have absolutely Zero problem buying one for my wife, because my wife doesn't really care about performance, although that may have changed since she started driving the Ioniq 5 and Model Y. I just would never want one for myself. You know I just like teasing you, sometimes forgetting others are also reading
