Yes I will try to remember. I'm sure I'm beating the tt6s. The engine is barely working thanks to good ole fashioned displacement. Big engines always overdeliver when loafing around at decent speeds. Like your W12s do.
The W12s are weird, they like 64 mph or 87 best......or 125ish. Gets 23-24 at the first two nodes and 19.5-21 at the high node all hand calc since two like to undersell and one oversells itself lol!
Sounds about right, that has happened to me a few times in the past. My wife and I switch cars all the time and there were times where I hopped in the car and the fuel light was on. Nothing worse than that with no heads up from the wife and when asked about it just getting a “sorry.”
No worries though, my wife never has to get gas. It’s sketchy at gas stations and a few years ago she chipped the paint on the edge of the fender by the gas door with the nozzle and after that I just told her I would get gas from now on.
Is it instantaneous? My "instant" mpg lags one second behind in the LS430.
well i say 'instantaneous' lol but yea it refreshes like once a second
mercedes never even included such a readout in the W211 which always confused me... the technology was clearly there, how hard could it be to just add 1 additional display between the trip average and digital speedometer readouts
Cleaning the Phaeton up and I couldn't help but take a few pictures of the stupid long and wide main wood slab Also has these wood shelves, lends a very special feel to the car Even the 12v outlet is soft open and hidden when not in use Armrests are so so soild, massive chrome steel hinges that are so smooth to use. Rear windows have defrosters for some reason, control is from the rear seats as well The sun shade handle has a metal insert on each side and sits in a click retainer metal seat when folded Ashtrays are all capped with metal as well, compartments are all leather wrapped and soft open
The Phaeton has insane attention to details that I'm still discovering every time I interact with it, it's totally displaced the LS430 as my benchmark of meticulous interior appointments.
It's just so solid and quiet on top of every little thing being considered. You can push on the doors or console with over 100lb of force and it just doesn't move or make any noise at all.

That's definitely an over engineered car for certain but it doesn't beat an UL LS430. The wood is abundant in that but doesn't look as good as even the standard wood in the 430, let alone the blended wood in the CL and UL models with the dark interiors. The whole door handle area looks a little plasticky on the Phaeton. The controls in general don't really cut it in that car.
The leather isn't as nice. The gauges are ho hum. LS430 has chrome ashtray things in the rear seats as well, and ULs had their own rear A/C with a deodorizer. And a fridge and massaging rear seats. Even the base leather like in my car, the backs of the seats are leather as well.... doesn't look like that here.

No offense.
It totally destroys any 430 sorry.
I own both, nothing in the Pheaton is plastic, it's all coated with soft touch or leather. Wood is 2x thicker as well and doesn't crack except for the moving vents, it is also ALL bookmatched side to side....that's something Lexus has NEVER done in any car.
Rear ac in this car is far better than a 430 and vents are controlled via stepped settings not a hand rolled wheel, it's also all able to be controlled from the drivers seat. Sure the 430 has thin chrome rings in the rear ashtrays, but they don't have soft open, leather, compartments. Just a little hatch up on top of the armrest.
Gauges are much nicer, each has its own individual lens and metal trim ring. It also goes to 200mph for a reason lol! It also has a full powered trunk and twin batteries with redundancy, both things the LS didn't get till the 460 or not at all. Even the sunroof shade is fully powered in both directions so you never have to manually move anything. Even the rear view mirror is memory and powered as are the rear headrests.
The seat padding is also nearly 2x as thick on top of all seats having heat/cool/memory and an actual good massage function. Seats also have split back adjustments and bolster adjustments the 430 never got in any capacity. There are twin seatbelt retractors so you never have to pull the belt out and then down like 99% of all cars, you just pull directly to the latch and it never gets tight or uncomfortable.
This isn't even getting into the armrests or general increase across the board in how solid the interior is fit together. Or the 150 greater hp 50% higher cylinder count engine driving a true AWD system riding on air suspension that actually works long term.
The 430 is nice, but it's not a Phaeton in any respect.

I think the difference is the Japanese vs German sensibility. The UL 430s had leather in all the same places, but german cars of that era had a firmer, more textured look and feel that personally I don't like as much as the softer Lexus feel of the era.

Did the UL 430s have leather rear decks, under seats, side of seat controls, and lower door cards, grab handles, and pass through lids? As far as softness the top spec Phaetons win there as well, Lexus never offered the same tier.
Rear door wood slab, compound shape not just a panel like a 430 plus the car still has the upper insert

This looks like a car you should be chauffeured around in.

CL or UL LS430 has a door that's at least that nice, if not nicer.
Is your LS430 a base or CL or up? Because those interiors are so nice they seem almost hand built.
There is lots of wood in the Phaeton which I like a lot but it doesn't look as good as LS430 wood.

UL LS430s had the entire door panel leather except the very top up by the window. All leather grab handles, whole lower dash and console leather. Side of seat controls were not. Rear deck was alcantara same as the headliner. No pass through on a UL because they had a fridge between the rear seats.
German cars of that era feel and look firmer and harder in the materials, I can see it in the pictures. That Phaeton is incredibly nice but overall I gotta say the UL LS430 would be my choice of interior. Its just a feel and style preference.

Pads after 3 track days. Never saw the street.
How brand new pads look
Nice, what rotors are you using with them?
Yes, the Phaeton is a car I've barely driven since the rear seat is the best I have in the fleet lol! I'm trying to convince my friend to drive the car for the next Arkansas and Florida trips.....
