Good question. Stellantis just looks like a hot mess right now.
I saw a new EV Charger last week. Yuck Something about the lines on it just didn't look right to me. They're like $30k off MSRP and still not selling lol. I would describe the looks as dowdy.
That's why I am not interested in buying a new truck right now.
The only GM product I'd like is the GMC Sierra with the 6.2, but now that engine is a risk that I'm not willing to take (plus the small gas tank that doesn't work for towing).
The F-150 is nice but for a reason I can't pinpoint, just doesn't appeal to me. I have quality concerns as well.
The RAM, especially with the new I-6, frightens me. I have little faith in it and I feel like, in general, they are very inconsistent. You get a good one, or you get a bad one. Bon chance.
The Tundra, while I love the new one, is a bit of an unknown for me right now. I need a little more time to be confident that the engine issues have been fully addressed.
Guess I'll be rocking my outdated but reliable V8 Tundra indefinitely. That's okay, as I love it. I just like shiny new things.
Is your business partner going to keep it or ditch it?
As JDR mentioned, it's a little sketchy buying a new truck. They all have their various issues. My brother does not like the 10 speed in his F150. He's kicking himself for getting rid of his 2016 that was flawless. The 6 speed was so much better according to him.
the phaeton trunk hinges are a work of art! are there any cases so far of that latch retracting but then not coming back out again? i don't know of any other cars that do that
Never had an issue but I got curious as to how exactly it works since there is no obvious visible mechanism. I just knew it's unusually solid and moved with a lot of force
Anything new with that W8 Passat? I remember I asked you a couple months ago but you sounded busy with other stuff.
FWIW, my brother (and me) loved the Phaeton when it came out. I thought it was cool as hell. That VW logo on the front just turned people off because I think it was $80k when it debuted.
$80k and VW weren't a good match in the mid 2000's.

Oh yeah, the pricing was hilarious. You went from "normal" VW to the W8 and Touareg at 2x everything else then all the way to 80/115k for the base and 12 cyl phaeton.
In 2004 though if you-preordered a W12 you actually only paid $4k more than a base car, all other years you were looking at the normal price though. Mine is maxed out at over 130k with every NA option possible and I have intent to import all the euro only bits like I did with my D4.
As far as my W8 goes it's nearing completion to hit the road, I have to refresh all the fluids and CLEAN it inside. Just been too busy with other stuff in life to one shot it lol!

They're on it, doing something about it. My guess is that most are okay on the lots, and if not you get a free new engine or a 10 year 150k mile engine warranty if the engine is not affected.
The engine warranty on ours is until 180k lol.
But oh yeah ain't nothing wrong with the 5.7 lol. It's just not as potent.

He's going to think about it, its been such an ordeal...
I gotta give it to GM here. They're stepping up and offering a warranty until 180k miles and a brand new engine if something bad happens again.
I just don't understand how the 6.2 LT2 in the C8 seems to be fine. They share a lot of architecture. I know about the oil weights vs the L87. Maybe because that assembly line in Bowling Green exclusively focuses on Corvettes?
