I think a lot of the CVT reliability is just chatter…like I said my cousin had two Nissan SUVs with CVTs to well over 100k miles with no fluid changes and they were/are fine.

Know someone with Altima and their CVT transmission went out with 5k on the odometer then on the other hand have a family member with 75k miles on their Altima with no CVT issues. The latter does every service by the book at the dealer.
Looks like it’s a crapshoot, when it comes to the Jatco CVT transmissions. My nephew has a 2014 Rogue with 150k HARD miles and has no issues. On the other hand, the transmission in my cousin’s Sentra crapped out few hundred miles before expiration of manufacturer warranty… Got it replaced for free.
That's good to hear.
I've been afraid of buying anything with a CVT.
They're not all unreliable. The Jatcos that Nissan uses are particularly bad, and there are a smattering of others. But most are fine from a reliability perspective--for example the Asin units that Subaru uses have been extremely solid at least since MY2019. I expect designs like Toyota's DirectShift CVT (used in the Corolla) will be pretty much bulletproof, as the physical 1st gear takes nearly all of the stress off of the belt unit.
Just Google “Nissan CVT recalls” or “Nissan transmission issues” and you’ll quickly see that they’ve had recalls for years and years on many of their models.

you should still be afraid, but not about reliability... be afraid about a sudden CVT induced comatose state when you're behind the wheel as a result of what an absolute snoozefest any CVT is lol
keep the RX 330 it's a FAR superior product to any rogue/murano

I would choose a much newer Murano over an old RX330, the CVT isn't that bad. Same year Murano vs RX of course I would choose the RX.
