Speaking of Thunderbirds, when I was a kid our neighbor had one of these 1988 Thunderbird Turbo Coupes with a 5 speed. I remember being quiet impressed when I rode with them to the beach for the day.
I like the color. My neighbor when I was in high school had one of these. He used to like to leave his garage door open overnight. One Friday night, the car got stolen and he accused me of doing it. The car was recovered and they caught the kid. The neighbor told me the guy’s name and asserted that he was a friend of mine. Thing is, the kid was trying to become a gang banger and I was trying to get good enough grades to go to college. I knew the kid’s name because it was the kid that broke into my locker and stole my jacket back in junior high. We didn’t travel in the same circles. I did tell the neighbor if I had been the thief, I would have moved the T Bird and stolen his Autocraft Cobra. He didn’t think that was very funny.
Man that brings back memories. I had a 96 LS that was black with this same interior. Something about those seats from that era in both the LS and the LX are very nostalgic for me and I feel they were just so upscale looking. I always wished I had the 98-00 body style (like the new headlights and tail lights much more), but to this day there was no better LS driving experience than my 96. I sold it at like 260k miles and it still was so quiet and still at stop lights that I'd have to look at the RPM's to make sure it was running. If a silver or white 98-00 with this beige interior ever shows up on BAT, I'm bidding. Even if I only keep it for like 6 months, I just want one.

If you know, you know! I still see these pics and think "man those look nice". In those years I have always preferred the tan over the grey. I even remember the smell of the leather in my 96 (which smelled exactly like my parents' 92 LS when I was a teenager!). Crazy nostalgia.
